Ruby Foo's Hotel

Ruby Foo’s doubles as a hotel and a piece of Montréal’s postwar story that’s managed to stay relevant. Once the go-to supper club for visiting celebrities and the city’s political class, it reinvented itself in the 1960s as a sleek modern hotel and again in recent years with a sustainable, design-forward facelift by Lemay Michaud. Today, its 198 rooms balance understated comfort with nods to its mid-century Asian-inspired flair: think plush robes, goose-down duvets, and quiet efficiency. Guests move between a heated outdoor pool, gym, sauna, and two on-site restaurants—Ben & Florentine for brunch, Ruby Noir for cocktails. Conveniently set between the airport and downtown, it still carries a certain old-school polish.
