Letter from the Editor: Our Favourite Stories from 2025

One story for every month of 2025: A year of covering Montreal's culture, history, and the people shaping its future.

If I had to wrap up this past year in one word?

    Wow.

I still cannot believe what we’ve been able to achieve with our small and dedicated team in 2025 , and I wanted to remember all the work we’ve done by looking back on all of our storytelling—one story for every month (it was hard to pick just one story, so I’ve included some runner-ups as well). I also left some notes as to why stories were chosen.

One important note: You may notice that things REALLY start to pick up towards the end of the year. That’s not by accident.

We found ourselves with a renewed resolve for 2026 months ahead, and kicked things into a gear that’ll carry forth. There are so many more stories to tell.
