I Primi keeps things simple: three types of fresh pasta, a rotating cast of housemade sauces, and a few extras—burrata, pancetta, truffle oil—to make it yours. Opened in spring 2025 by friends Esther, Joseph, and William, this takeout-only counter in Hochelaga feels like a love letter to the primi piatti of Italy, filtered through a local lens. The pesto (with basil, dill, parsley, and sunflower seeds) hits all the right notes—bright, nutty, and satisfying—and the antipasti box with charcuterie, olives, and focaccia doesn’t hurt either. There’s no seating yet, but the team is working on it. Prices stay reasonable, portions are generous, and weekday lunch specials make it a clutch move for office workers and tired parents alike.
