Bar St-Laurent Frappé

Bar St-Laurent Frappé has been a Plateau fixture long enough to feel genuinely lived-in: two floors, a covered courtyard terrace, pool tables running $1 a game, foosball, slot machines, and enough screens to catch whatever match is on. The crowd is a mix of regulars and walk-ins drawn by the low-key atmosphere and reliably cold beer on tap. There's no kitchen, but the bar lets you bring food in from outside, which given the neighbourhood isn't hard to manage. It's the kind of place that rewards a lack of expectations: loud when it needs to be, comfortable when it doesn't, and staffed by people who are happy to see you.
