Taverne Saint-Sacrement

About

Directly across from the shrine that gives it its name, Taverne Saint-Sacrement has been a Plateau fixture since 2012. It’s where the neighbourhood's artists, musicians, and night owls settle in and lose track of time.

The room earns its taverne label honestly: low ceilings, worn floors, wood everywhere, and walls lined with screens for Habs nights. But the kitchen punches above typical pub weight, running from a solid poutine and crispy Brussels sprouts with miso to tuna tataki salad and steak-frites.

The beer list leans local, anchored by their own St-Sacrement house brews alongside a rotating Quebec selection, while the wine list—all private imports—skews surprisingly serious. When the weather cooperates, the 40-seat terrasse on Mont-Royal becomes one of the better spots on the strip for a long afternoon.
