Marché Andes

Since 1986, Marché Andes has been the anchor of La Petite-Patrie's Latin American community, stocking imported goods from across Mexico, Central America, and South America: dried chiles, bottled salsas, frozen fruit purees, masa for tortillas (plus fresh blue and yellow ones), and an impressive butcher counter specializing in Latin American meats and sausages. The bakery is the heart of the place, turning out Mexican conchas, Colombian pan de queso, and dulce de leche-stuffed alfajores. An adjacent restaurant serves platos típicos drawing on recipes from across the region. Founded by Colombian immigrant Héctor Aguilar, the store passed through hands before the Aguilar family reclaimed it in 2018; it's now run by Héctor's daughter and her partner, who carry the project forward as both family business and cultural institution.
