Le 1000 De La Gauchetière

At 205 metres to the roof and 232 metres to its spire, Le 1000 De La Gauchetière is the tallest building in Montreal by city planning standards, its copper-tipped triangular crown and dome details at each corner echoing the nearby Marie-Reine-du-Monde Cathedral. Designed by Lemay & Associés and Dimakopoulos & Associés and completed in 1992 for Montreal's 350th anniversary, the postmodern tower sits at the heart of the downtown core, connected to the metro and the underground RÉSO network. Its ground-floor atrium houses the city's best-known indoor skating rink, drawing over 200,000 visitors a year, skate rentals included. A food court and free Wi-Fi round out the public amenities.
