HÀ

Hà takes its name and its spirit from Mr. Hà, a Vietnamese chef and neighbourhood fixture who passed away in 2015. Set on McGill Avenue in Old Montreal, the restaurant is built around the bia hoi tradition: the informal Vietnamese street-corner joints where food is simple, portions are meant to be shared, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Executive chef Ross Louangsignotha channels that ethos through a menu that layers Mr. Hà's Vietnamese classics with Laotian influences and Montreal seasonality. The result spans cold spring rolls and spicy papaya salad to crispy pork belly and Vietnamese affogato, with Imperial rolls and steamed bao rounding out a menu that moves comfortably between snack and full meal.
