4 Origines (Pointe-Saint-Charles)

4 Origines is Pointe-Saint-Charles’ homegrown brewery, built from the ground up by three friends who swapped careers in law, marketing, and finance for beer. The space itself is industrial by design—vaulted ceilings, vats visible from the taproom—and its location along the Lachine Canal makes the terrasse one of the better spots in town to drink with a view. The lineup changes often but has always leaned toward approachability: pale ales infused with fruit or tea, golden ales made to please the “working drinker,” English browns, stouts, and session IPAs. Beyond the recipes, what sets 4 Origines apart is its philosophy of beer as a social glue. Patrons can bring in food, sit canal-side with a pint, or catch collaborations with local roasters and makers. It’s a brewery meant as much for the neighbourhood as it is for the city’s wider beer scene.
