"The French-born Columbus Café & Co made its Montreal debut at the busy corner of Parc and Fairmount, bringing a bit of Parisian café culture to Mile End. With its 1800-square-foot space, bright interiors, and friendly team, it feels more polished than your average indie coffee shop but still manages to keep things casual. Open seven days a week, the café offers a menu that spans espresso drinks, house-baked muffins, sandwiches, and salads, with a nod to both French and North American comfort food.

The brand started in France in 1994 and has grown into a global chain, but the Montreal location still tries to strike a local chord. Staff prepare muffins on-site, and the vibe is heavy on warmth, cheer, and a slightly over-the-top sense of hospitality (see: teddy bear mascot). It’s a good spot to post up with a laptop, grab a snack between errands, or just order a latte with more foam than you’d get down the street."
