Hollywood Barbershop has been around since the ’60s, but Ralph Bou Jaoude is the one keeping it alive. The 29-year-old Lebanese-Canadian barber took over the Mile End mainstay in 2022, inheriting more than just its vintage Koken chairs and hand-painted clock—he took on a decades-long legacy of neighbourhood service. Rather than rename or rebrand, Ralph chose to preserve what mattered: the space, the pace, and the trust built over generations of cuts and conversations. After learning the craft from his father in Lebanon, Ralph brought old-school techniques into a new city, adapting to Montreal’s multilingual, multicultural clientele without losing sight of what makes a barbershop feel like home.
