Simons

Simons’ downtown Montreal store on Sainte-Catherine Street marked the Quebec retailer’s first expansion into the city in 1999, bringing a distinctly architectural approach to fashion retail in the middle of the downtown shopping corridor. The multilevel space is organized around a circular layout that draws visitors upward through the store, anchored by a suspended sculpture by Quebec painter Guido Molinari that sets the tone for the brand’s long-standing dialogue between fashion, art, and design.

Founded in Quebec City in 1840, Simons remains one of Canada’s oldest family-owned retailers, now run by the fifth generation of the Simons family. The downtown Montreal location reflects the company’s ongoing effort to merge retail with cultural experience, combining international labels with its in-house brands like Twik, Le 31, and La Contemporaine.
