Le Dépanneur Café

This spot has been running daily live music since for a long time, and it shows. An open whiteboard sports the names of musicians signing up for hour-long daytime slots who play for the people in genuinely unpredictable ways.
The food is honest, bagels and brunch and vegetarian chili, and the coffee is serious, with a full specialty menu and a hojicha latte for good measure. The windowside seats fill up in summer with a crowd made up of people who actually live in the neighbourhood, making this place the ‘third space’ that everyone else is trying to build from scratch.
Come for the cortado, stay for whoever decides to show up with a djembe.
