Mythos Ouzeri

Mythos traces its origins back to a small stone house in Nea Epidavros, where founder Dimitri Galanis first absorbed the rhythms of Greek home cooking—wood-fired ovens, olive branches for fuel, and meals built from what was on hand. That memory carries through the restaurant’s approach: charcoal-grilled meats, olive oil over butter, and a menu anchored in familiar dishes like moussaka, pastitsio, and whole grilled fish.
Opened in Montreal against some hesitation, the restaurant became part of the city’s long-standing Greek dining circuit, sustained by both community ties and a steady broader clientele. Galanis, who passed away in 2018, left behind more than a restaurant; he helped reinforce a tradition of hospitality that continues today, with live music, shared plates, and a style of service rooted less in formality than in keeping the table full.
