Photo of Philinos, a Restaurant in Mile End

Philinos

Philinos has been holding down its corner of Parc Avenue since 1996, part of a strip that once defined Mile End’s Greek commercial life and still carries that imprint. Founded by Cejarlos Darmas and now run with his sons, it’s a family operation of consistenct that shows in both the room and the menu. Inside, the dining room leans into another era: white tablecloths, low lighting, and a layout built for groups settling in rather than turning tables quickly. The food follows the same logic. Grilled meats, whole fish, octopus, and the usual lineup of dips and pies come out in portions designed for sharing, anchored by recipes that haven’t shifted much over time (and that's a very good thing).
