Fromagerie du Presbytère

Fromagerie du Presbytère sits on the Ferme Louis d'Or in Sainte-Élizabeth-de-Warwick, a property farmed by five generations of the Morin family over more than a century. Jean Morin founded the fromagerie and, in 2005, acquired the village's former presbytery, converting it into an aging cellar and establishing the operation's distinctive identity. A subsequent $2 million expansion saw Morin purchase and restore the local church, adding dedicated affinage space while preserving a heritage building that had been at risk. The fromagerie produces 13 aged cheeses from the farm's own milk, including the Louis d'Or, Bleu d'Élizabeth, Laliberté, and the Taliah, a firm sheep's milk cheese that took the Caseus Or at the 2025 Sélection Caseus. The raclette Religieuse finished in the top five at a world raclette competition in Morgins, Switzerland. Each summer, the operation's Friday-night cheese events draw tens of thousands of visitors to the village. In May 2026, Morin was named Artisan of the Year at the Gala des Lauriers de la gastronomie québécoise.
