Originally built on the site of a former farm, Le Germain Hotel Charlevoix blends minimalist design with the spirit of the land it occupies. The five-building property draws from local farm architecture but pares it down to sleek lines, oversized windows, and honest materials—furniture by local artisans, wallpaper made from archival Charlevoix photos, and lighting from Quebec designers. The result is both grounded and refined.
The hotel runs on geothermal energy, grows its own produce and flowers, and keeps 15 beehives on site. In summer, the public square out front doubles as a farmers’ market; in winter, it turns into a skating rink. A hydrotherapy spa, in-house art gallery, and two restaurants—Les Labours upstairs, and Le Bercail in the lobby—round out the offering, with menus built around Charlevoix’s producers and a firm sense of place. Whether you’re skiing Le Massif or exploring the Flavour Trail, this is the kind of stay that reaffirms what “getting away” is supposed to mean.
