About

Le Crocodile is what happens when one of Quebec’s top mixologists decides to open a bar behind a cocktail boutique and keep things deliberately off-radar. Max Coubès—whose résumé includes a bestselling book and multiple award nominations—transformed the back of Alambika into a thirty-seat aperitif bar where the cocktails are inventive, the ingredients are local, and the vibe is low-key. What started as a short-term experiment has turned into one of the more interesting places in the city to drink—especially if you’re skipping the booze. The menu includes a standout selection of non-alcoholic creations alongside local beers, wine by the glass, and a premium cocktail list built around rare spirits. The room itself mixes clean wood textures with an oversized crocodile mural, striking just the right balance between playful and refined. It’s a thoughtful, unhurried alternative to the usual cocktail circuit.
