Dragon Flowers is a landmark, kept alive for over 40 years by Tamey Lau, a single mother, immigrant, and floral artist whose presence is as beloved as the flowers she arranges. After a fire nearly ended it all in 2013, the Mile End rallied. Over $12,000 poured in within 24 hours, a testament to how deeply this small business is woven into the fabric of the neighbourhood. Head to their new location since a move onto Saint-Laurent Boulevard from Bernard and you’ll likely find Tamey still behind the counter, building each bouquet by hand, her ranunculus favourites tucked in among roses, lilies, and more.
