Old Montreal, Montreal
Angelini Café

About
Angelini Café occupies the ground floor of the Yorkshire Building on Saint-Jacques, in the stretch of Old Montreal that once served as the city's financial district. The former bank fittings were kept during the conversion, including the vault door, which now anchors a room otherwise given over to espresso and gelato.
The name comes from the family's grandmother, and the format follows the Italian bar gelateria model: one counter serving from morning through evening, coffee and a pastry early, focaccia at lunch, gelato or sorbet whenever.
Gelato, sorbet, and focaccia are all made in house, with flavours that rotate through pistachio, mango, and fruit sorbets alongside the standards. Coffee comes from Barista Montreal. The affogato bridges both halves of the menu, and cannoli and other pastries round out the case.
