Saint-Henri, Montreal
Pas de probleme cafe

About
Pas de problème brings a distinctly Jamaican point of view to Saint-Henri, but the family behind it is what gives the café its shape. Run by Paris alongside her father Royden and brother Kingston, the project doubles as a small act of inheritance: Royden, born in Kingston, Jamaica, returned to Montreal with plans to build something he could pass on. The result is a café that trades laptop culture for conversation, with no Wi-Fi and a menu that moves from all-day brunch into early evening comfort food. Jamaican patties, jerk chicken smoked out back, and a brunch plate built around eggs, beans, sausages, and house-made bread anchor the food, while Blue Mountain coffee, hojicha, and sorrel round things out. Even the grandmother’s mac and cheese made the cut.
