Mollo Café

Mollo Café has anchored Wellington Street in Pointe-Saint-Charles since 2019, and the name doubles as the house philosophy: prends ça mollo, take it easy. Co-owner Alexandre Ouellet and his wife, longtime residents of the neighbourhood, have built the café into a genuine community fixture, donating unsold goods to local organizations and expanding over the years with a bakery-lab down the street and a second café in Saint-Henri.
The Wellington flagship now occupies a larger space steps from the original, with a communal table, local artwork, a front garage door that opens in good weather, and an adjoining shop selling merch and locally roasted beans. The kitchen keeps things simple: coffee, matcha, pastries from the bakery-lab, and a roster of grilled cheese sandwiches. From spring through fall, the counter adds homemade gelato, with a few flavours sold year-round in tubs.
