Chez Bong

A Chinatown institution with roots going back to 1989, Madame Bong reportedly opened what was then the city's first Korean restaurant, Chez Bong. She has spent more than two decades feeding the neighbourhood with straightforward, home-style Korean cooking.
The menu covers the essentials well: bibimbap in stone pot or regular bowl with a choice of proteins, japchae, a solid roster of spicy stir-fries (pork, chicken, calamari, tofu), kimchi jjigae and sundubu jjigae, and grilled meats including bulgogi and galbi. The pajeon, available in small or large, is a reliable draw. Soju comes in classic and flavoured varieties; beer, sake, and wine round out the drinks. No reservations.
