Downtown, Montreal
Le Grand Comité

About
A downtown bistro on rue Bishop, Le Grand Comité comes from Groupe Comité and executive chef Rémi Lemieux, whose résumé runs through Massimo Bottura's Osteria Francescana and Éric Ripert's Le Bernardin, and whose cooking earned Michelin recognition in the guide's first Montreal year.
The kitchen applies that pedigree to neighbourhood bistro fare built on Quebec sourcing: Kenauk trout, Gaspor pork, farm vegetables from La Charrette, and chicken from Ferme Antoine, alongside croques, steak frites, and a limited-quantity signature burger. Desserts wink at the city, including an île flottante flavoured like the Orange Julep and a sticky toffee pudding crossed with pouding chômeur.
The wine list moves between natural bottles and classic appellations without fuss, cocktails get equal attention, and weekends bring brunches that are light but just right.
