Restaurant Mukja

Bringing the energy of Seoul’s street food stalls to NDG, Mukja is all about classic Korean comfort eats done right. Originally a takeout-only spot, it expanded to dine-in in 2023, giving Montrealers a place to sit down with a steaming plate of tteokbokki or a loaded Korean corndog (kogo). The menu reads like a greatest-hits list of Korea’s street food scene: crispy mixed tempura, sticky-sweet fried chicken, chewy jajangmyeon, and glossy, tangy tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). There’s no pretense here—just solid, satisfying dishes that hit every craving, whether you’re after a quick snack or a full meal. Run by Byung Ho Kim’s family, the same people behind Marché Korea, Mukja takes a more traditional approach in a city filled with fusion spots, making it one of the go-to destinations for those looking for a true taste of Korea.
