Vague à Guy

A standing wave created by the rocky riverbed of the St. Lawrence, the Vague à Guy sits within Parc des Rapides in LaSalle and is one of the city's signature spots for river surfing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The wave is stationary, meaning surfers can hold position on it indefinitely, which makes it well-suited to skill-building. The site is unsupervised by the city and is recommended for experienced practitioners or those who have completed an introductory course; a PFD, helmet, wetsuit, and safety leash are required. The season runs May 1 through October 15. On-site facilities include changing cabins, lockers, showers, and accessible washrooms.
