Verdun Auditorium

Opened in 1938, the Auditorium de Verdun is one of Montreal's oldest and most storied arenas, a Verdun landmark that has hosted everything from QMJHL hockey to Nirvana concerts. A major restoration returned the building to its former glory while upgrading it for contemporary use. The complex holds two rinks: the Scotty Bowman rink and the Denis Savard rink, both named for hockey legends with ties to the city. Today the Auditorium serves as home to the Montreal Alliance of the Canadian Elite Basketball League and has welcomed the Montréal Victoire of the PWHL. Beyond elite sport, the facility offers public skating and stick-and-puck sessions, and the restoration earned recognition from the Ordre des architectes du Québec and Opération Patrimoine Montréal.
