Café Fairmount Bagel

Montreal’s bagel wars just picked up a new subplot. Fairmount Bagel, the 107-year-old Mile End institution, is quietly expanding with a dedicated café space at 65 Fairmount Ouest—directly across the street from its bakery.

Details are scarce for now. The project, which appears to be operating under the name Café Fairmount Bagel, takes over the former home of The Standard, a neighbourhood mainstay since 2012. Aside from newly installed window decals, Fairmount is keeping its cards close.
