Joie de Livres

Founded by sisters Sylvie and Claire Trottier alongside a team rooted in bookselling and hospitality, Joie de Livres is a bilingual bookstore–café–bar in Mile End centred romance and fantasy as tools for connection, representation, and community. Shelves in French and English line a deliberately maximalist room designed to be lived in, while a fully licensed café-bar supports book clubs, launches, and literary events. Part bookstore, part third space, Joie de Livres treats joy as something worth organizing around—and protecting.
