Le Studio TD is housed inside the Maison du Festival, a cultural anchor for the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal since 2009. Set in the early 20th-century Blumenthal Building—an emblem of Chicago School architecture designed by Charles Alexander Mitchell and David Ogilvy—the venue operates as part of a long-term agreement with the Government of Québec, positioning it as a permanent home for jazz in the city. The room itself is tailored for smaller-scale concerts and events, with flexible layouts that shift between seated cabaret and general admission. Capacity ranges from 300 to 700, but the space never feels too big or too cramped. As part of the Quartier des Spectacles, it’s surrounded by pre-show dinner spots and post-show street life. While guests have praised the venue’s acoustics and accommodating staff, others point to gaps in amenities like coat check during the colder months. Still, it remains one of downtown’s most intimate and reliable places to catch a live set.
