Les sans-taverne is run as a worker cooperative inside Pointe-Saint-Charles’ Bâtiment 7, a bar which picks up the thread of a district once known for having a tavern on every block. Instead of chasing profit, the team focuses on keeping prices reasonable and pouring beers they actually care about—everything from classic lagers to hopped-up one-offs and collabs tied to local history or politics. The room draws regulars, families, and anyone drifting through the building’s maze of community projects, and the kitchen keeps things straightforward with burritos, chili, hot dogs and vegan snacks. It’s a space shaped by the people who work in it, and one of the few spots in the city where that’s still literally true.
