Redesigned in 2022 to better serve the Plateau’s growing population, Parc des Compagnons-de-Saint-Laurent is both a gathering place and a year-round playground. Built around the idea of accessible, flexible public space, it features raw timber play structures, shaded seating areas, a recirculating splash pad, and fruit-bearing native trees woven through the park’s edges. In summer, it hosts Zumba classes, an outdoor toy library adorned by illustrator Théo Le Roux, a public piano, and ping-pong tables; in winter, the terrain becomes a sledding zone. There’s also a training circuit for adults and open spaces that accommodate seasonal programming like movie nights and holiday markets. While the structures are designed to last, the park itself is constantly in motion—shaped by community use, weather, and a design ethos that prioritizes inclusivity, sustainability, and playful engagement with the natural world.
