Parquette

Parquette operates out of a former gym on Bellechasse in Rosemont, functioning as a flexible cultural venue shaped by the needs of the communities it serves. Founded by Oliver Anthony and Lou Celsius of FANTOM with early financial support from Colin Rothfels, the space was developed to address the scarcity of affordable, community-oriented venues for queer and BIPOC organizers in Montreal.

By day, it runs as a café and hosts workshops, launches, markets, and movement-based classes. By night, it transitions into an event space for parties, performances, and long-format gatherings, including its 24-hour flagship event, Flip. Built through collective labour and sustained by a hybrid staff-and-volunteer model, Parquette keeps rental rates and ticket prices accessible. Clear community guidelines and direct communication with neighbours underpin its operations, positioning it as a grassroots alternative to conventional commercial nightlife venues.
