Piknic Électronik

For more than two decades, Piknic Électronik has functioned as a Sunday ritual at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Since 2003, the weekly gathering has drawn electronic music fans across the river from downtown for afternoons that stretch from 2 p.m. into the early evening, framed by skyline views and the steady thrum of house, techno, and increasingly broader EDM programming.
Two stages anchor the site, with food kiosks, picnic tables, and open space for dancing. Children 12 and under enter free, and select dates include Petit Piknic programming geared toward families. The event is metro-accessible via Jean-Drapeau station, with bike parking outside the grounds.
What began as a local experiment now has editions in cities like Barcelona and Paris. But the Montreal version remains the reference point: part dancefloor, part public park, part summer institution.
