Randolph Pub Ludique (Latin Quarter)

Randolph helped turn board games from a niche hobby into a full-night-out format in Montreal. Launched in 2012 by Normand D’Amour, Justin Bazoge, Joël Gagnon, and Benoît Gascon, the Quebec company built its name on people being more likely to have a good time when someone knowledgeable is there to steer the table. That’s where its game hosts come in, matching groups with the right pick from a library that runs into the thousands, then explaining the rules before things descend into chaos. What began as a gaming pub in the Quartier Latin has since expanded into multiple locations, private event programming, retail, and game distribution. Food and drinks are part of the equation too, but the real draw is still giving people an excuse to sit down and compete.
