    Presented by

    Fonderie Darling

    Morning, Montreal.

In truth, there are many things afoot this weekend, but:

There’s only one place we want to see you.

Later today(!), we’re hosting a party, as we’re sure you know (we’ve only hinted at it for weeks and announced it a few times over in recent weeks).

Tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the ruelle verte that runs alongside the McCord Stewart Museum, we’re throwing a party that brings together all of our favourite people: readers, and locals doing amazing things for this city.

Food from Parcelles, Elena, and Beigne Habitude, drinks from Aupale Vodka and WILLS, and a set from DJ HIDI will be there waiting for you.

Together, we’ll eat and drink and celebrate the launch of our special edition magazine, The Last Good Days, a celebration of harvest season in a province rich with outstanding produce.

It’s been over a year since our last party, and while I’m pleased to say our readership has grown considerably since then, tThe catch is that I haven’t had the pleasure of putting faces to names since our last block party. I hope you’ll come out and say hello, pick up a copy, and enjoy yourself.

    RSVP here.

One Story to Read This Week

“I go by instinct—if I see something interesting, I buy it, and then I’ll find a spot for it.” | Photograph: Jean Bourbeau / @jbmtl

Every driver on the Métropolitaine has caught a glimpse of the gothic, fortress-like facade, a building locals refer to as the “Château de la 40.” In this week’s suggested read, we embrace the incoming month’s Halloween-y flair, with a profile of the owner behind this mysterious roadway fixture, originally published in URBANIA.

When the enigmatic barrier between this man and this mansion is overcome, what emerges is a story about a lifelong lighting technician with a habit of collecting and a passion for his ever-evolving spooky storefront.

    Run, don’t walk

This one’s for the athleisurely, the jog-hungrey, the fit and it crowd, and those looking for a good reward at the end of a run: We have a group run starting at ciele in Griffintown that’s ending at our party tonight.

Waiting at the finish line (apart from the food, drinks, and music): five caps from Ciele's new collection going to random attendees, and first copies of our special edition magazine and guide to eating seasonally in Quebec.

Dress in your Thursday (running) best and we’ll be there at the museum to welcome you with something cold to drink and warm to eat.

    RSVP to the party run
