From colourful designer-worthy crochet bags, to vibrant balls of yarn, LOOSENDS’ feed on Instagram or TikTok is easily distinguished by its black-and-white colour scheme punctuated with pops of colour.
“One day my friend and I were like, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun to make a little Instagram?’” LOOSENDS founder Bennett Tracz says. “I feel like that was the thing at the time, to have your little side hustle go on Instagram and call it a business.”
And that’s what they did. Between classes, Tracz and his friend shared photos of their crochet projects online. The name LOOSENDS came about purely accidentally (the username “Loose Ends” already being taken).
“Eventually I was like ‘Oh, I really like this, it feels like a combination of so many things that I’ve always loved.’”
