JA DeSève Cinema

J.A. DeSève Cinema inside Concordia’s J.W. McConnell Building is a 160-seat space that works as a classroom for Film and Moving Image Studies for most of the year, then shifts into public mode on weekends and through the summer.

Festivals use it for premieres, departments use it for defences, and plenty of panels land here because the tech—4K Barco projection, Dolby processors, formats from DCP to 35 mm and 16 mm—is set up for the real thing. There’s a foyer for gathering, steady technical support, and a booking system that keeps things clear whether you’re a student group or an outside organiser.
