Thé Jinjin

About

Thé Jinjin occupies a room on Marie-Anne East in the Plateau, shared with L'honnête Kid, the kitchen run by Elliot Latendresse. Wenhui Zhang grew up around her parents' neighbourhood teahouse in Nanjing and moved to Montreal in 2016 to study food science at McGill, working line cook and barista shifts before starting Jinjin as a roaming pop-up in 2025. The list runs in two directions.

On one side, straight tea by the cup or the pot: silver needle, Longjing, Shui Xian oolong, unsmoked Lapsang Souchong, aged shou pu-erh, each with tasting notes attached. On the other, single-origin Yabukita matcha and hojicha whisked to order into lattes and seasonal drinks built on Quebec fruit, mélilot and honey. Everything is made in front of you and served in ceramics by local Asian artists. Latendresse's side covers wontons, sesame noodles and Hong Kong curry.
