Lahaie Park

About

Parc Lahaie sits at the heart of Mile End in the shadow of the Saint-Enfant-Jésus Church — one of the borough's most striking baroque landmarks. What was once a neglected stretch of asphalt got a second life in 2010 when the Plateau administration permanently closed the adjacent section of Saint-Dominique to cars, effectively expanding the park into a proper piazza.

Today it's a genuinely lived-in neighbourhood square: rocking chairs under a covered nook, picnic tables in the shade, a fountain that reliably gets converted into a bubble bath come July. Locals swing by from Kem Coba with ice cream in hand or crack open something from a nearby depanneur (this is Mile End, after all).
