Daldongnae Korean BBQ

The name comes from the daldongnae, the hillside "moon villages" that defined Seoul's landscape in the postwar decades, and the Bishop Street location carries that communal spirit into its format: tabletop grills, a spread of banchan arriving with every order, and a minimum of two meat portions per person that nudges the whole thing toward sharing. Pork is the backbone of the BBQ menu, with seven cuts running from thin belly to échine and travers, each distinguished by fat content and texture; beef, wagyu, chicken, and a vegan set round out the options. Beyond the grill, the kitchen handles kimchi jjigae, sundubu, bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, cold and hot noodle soups, a seafood and green onion pancake, and a beef tartare with Asian pear and egg yolk. Soju in a dozen-plus flavours, makgeolli, soju cocktails, and beer take care of drinks.
