Lakshana’s has grown into a two-storefront restaurant, all built around a cuisine rarely represented on its own in the city: Chettinad cooking from Tamil Nadu, distinct from the Northern Indian menus that dominate most of the Indian restaurants in Montreal. Dosas are on the menu, alongside idli, vada, and a rotation of tiffin and home-style plates meant for mixing and matching. Everything is halal, and the restaurant is BYOB.
