MAYO 28

About

Mayo 28 runs out of a small Parc Avenue storefront between Saint-Viateur and Bernard, a former jewellery shop with eight seats and a counter built for takeout. Daniel Safi, Khaled Abdelfattah and Khalil Harb met working at the same restaurant years ago and have since opened café Tordu, the brunch room 30 Février and Café Grace in Laval. The beef here is ground fresh and delivered every morning, smashed to order and served on Martin's potato rolls. Sauce comes first in the thinking, which is where the name comes from: mayonnaise, plus May 28, International Burger Day. Four burgers, the Classic, the N°28 with their signature mayo, the Mayopeño with chipotle, jalapeño and spicy honey, and the Truff with caramelized onions. Shoestring fries, poutine, house lavender lemonade and iced tea, and a Biscoff carlota packed to go.
