Mosaic Art Studio runs workshops out of a storefront on Sherbrooke West in NDG, one branch of a network that started in Hong Kong in 2019 and reached Montreal and Laval in early 2022. The draw is the Turkish mosaic lamp: two to three hours at a work table arranging hand-cut coloured glass and beads across a glass globe, either freehand or over a supplied pattern, with an instructor working the room. No experience is assumed. Grouting happens at home a day later, which is when the lamp actually becomes a lamp, and Turkish tea and sweets come with the session. The studio takes private bookings for birthdays, showers, team outings and community fundraisers, and sells DIY kits for people who would rather work at their own kitchen table.
