Arthurs Dinette

Arthur’s Dinette is the latest project from Alex Cohen and Raegan Steinberg, the team behind Arthur’s Nosh Bar and Romies. Opening on Monkland Avenue in NDG, the restaurant offers a smaller, more intimate counterpoint to the busy Saint-Henri flagship that made their name.
The 48-seat room was designed with longtime collaborator Leslie Katz and leans into a relaxed neighbourhood feel: butter-yellow walls, a long banquette, custom laminate tables built by the same woodworker who helped shape the original Arthur’s, and a ten-seat bar anchoring the space. Family photographs line the walls, while a proper sound system finally replaces the famously questionable playlists of the first restaurant.
Starting out with dinner service, it's a menu Cohen has been wanting to cook for years—dishes rooted loosely in the Jewish diaspora, reflecting his Sephardic background and Steinberg’s Ashkenazi one. Expect things like lamb neck, the return of perogis, schnitzel in rotation, and seafood treated with unusual care.
Daytime service follows with Arthur’s brunch staples—smørrebrød, the MacArthur, cottage cheese pancakes—alongside a few dishes unique to Monkland.
