Café le 9e brings the quiet precision of Melk Café into the unlikeliest of settings: the Eaton Centre. But this is no generic mall coffee stop. Designed by Alex Baldwin with vintage touches—1930s marble columns, a stainless-steel canopy, hand-painted walls—it feels more like a museum café in a European capital. The menu keeps things sharp and minimal, built around refined staples like a Hof Kelsten jambon-beurre and a croissant-baguette hybrid you didn’t know you needed. Culinary direction from Derek Dammann and Liam Hopkins adds depth without flash, and nearly everything is made in-house via their partner kitchen, Abierto.
