Chez Ménick

For over 65 years, Domenico “Ménick” Perazzino has opened his barbershop on rue Masson like clockwork—lights on by 7:15 a.m., clippers in hand, ready to serve. The son of Sicilian immigrants, he started cutting hair at 14 and never stopped. His shop floor is painted like a hockey rink, the walls plastered with decades of photos: Habs legends, TV hosts, politicians, and local regulars who’ve all sat in his chairs. Ménick still keeps his five-day routine, working through grief and change with the same precision he brings to a fade.
