Anchored in the east end near the Olympic Stadium, Collège de Maisonneuve has been a fixture of Montreal’s academic landscape since 1929. Originally founded as Collège Sainte-Croix, it became a public CEGEP in 1967, taking its name from the city’s founder and its mission from the democratization of education. Today, the college welcomes over 7,000 students across a wide range of pre-university and technical programs.
Its campus on Sherbrooke Street is known for its greenhouse-like interior garden and Foucault pendulum, as well as the 480-seat Salle Sylvain-Lelièvre—named after the beloved musician and former professor. Beyond classrooms, the college houses specialized research centres in chemistry, packaging, food technology, and immigrant integration.
