La Toxica started as a side hustle and turned into one of the city’s most reliable destinations for birria. Owner Rosa Castellanos began selling tacos online in 2020, building a following before committing to a brick-and-mortar spot on Saint-Hubert. The menu is tight by design—birria front and centre, backed by tacos like cochinita pibil, shrimp, and lengua—with everything is cooked to order. The room is simple, the kitchen runs the show, and the portions are generous. Come hungry, expect a short wait, and plan on dipping everything into consommé.
