MDT Mobilier

Working almost exclusively in steel, MDT mobilier treats furniture as an exercise in restraint, tension, and use. Founded by Mathieu Domingue Trempe and Eliott Légaré, the studio designs and manufactures its pieces in Montreal, favouring raw finishes and forms that reveal how things are made rather than hiding the process. Tables, shelving, benches, and brackets carry a distinctly brutalist sensibility—functional, adaptable, and meant to age visibly over time. The same logic extends into their spatial projects, where custom furniture shapes cafés, boutiques, and hybrid venues. Nothing here is ornamental for its own sake; character comes from material honesty, structure, and how the pieces perform in real spaces.
